A web reader sees two kinds of data: yours as a customer, and the pages you ask it to read. This policy covers both, in that order.

**Quick answer — What does WebReaderAPI keep about me and the pages I read?**

**WebReaderAPI** keeps your account number, an optional email, your payment and credit records, and request logs that hold the host name of each page, never the full URL or its content, for 30 days. We keep no copy of the pages you read. We ask for no ID document and no card, and we do not sell or share your data.

## What data do we collect about you?

Only what running the service requires:

- **Account:** your account number, and an email address if you choose to add one.
- **Payments:** top-ups, their transaction IDs, coins and networks, and the packs you buy.
- **Usage:** Each request leaves a log line with the time, the account, the host name of the page (never the full URL or its content), the status and the credits used; these lines are deleted after 30 days. Pages you read are not stored. Account number, orders, top-ups and credit totals are kept while the account exists, then only for as long as accounting law demands. Records go to authorities only when a law obliges us.
- **API keys:** stored so we can check your requests, revocable at any time.

## What do we never collect?

We never collect identity documents, selfies, company papers or card numbers, because we do not need them. Account-number login; email is optional.

We never store the full address of the pages you read, their content, or the Markdown we return to you. Once the answer leaves our servers, the page text is gone from our side.

## Why keep the host name of each page?

For two reasons: to show you your usage history, and to answer site owners who report a problem with our crawler. A host name such as `example.com` is enough for both, so we cut every URL down to it before writing the log. Logs are deleted after 30 days.

## Who sees the requests we make for you?

The website you ask us to read sees a request from our infrastructure, with our user agent `WebReaderAPI/1.0 (+https://webreaderapi.com/bot/)`. It does not see your account, your key or your identity. When you use the `country` option, the request leaves from an address in that country through our infrastructure, with the same user agent.

Our infrastructure receives only what is needed to fetch the page: the URL and the options you chose.

## Do you use cookies?

The public pages use no advertising or tracking cookies. The client area uses the storage it needs to keep you signed in and to remember interface choices such as your language. Payment pages show addresses and amounts but set no third-party trackers.

## Do you share or disclose data?

We do not sell or rent any data. Records go to authorities only under a legal obligation, and we tell you when the law allows. Account and payment records are kept while your account is open, then only as long as accounting rules require.

## How do I see or delete my data?

Your usage history and payments are in the client area. To delete your account, ask from the client area or write to support@webreaderapi.com with an order ID; we will not ask for your account number or a key. Deleting the account removes its credits, as the [terms](https://webreaderapi.com/terms/) explain.
