> WebReaderAPI terms of service: account, page credits that never expire, crypto top-ups, robots.txt rules, refunds and liability, written in plain English.

These terms cover the website, the client area and the API. Each section answers one question, and nothing important is hidden in a footnote.

**Quick answer — What do the WebReaderAPI terms say in short?**

You pay in crypto for prepaid page credits for the **WebReaderAPI** web reader API, after a top-up of at least $25. 1 credit = 1 page read without a browser; 2 credits when the page needs a browser to render JavaScript. A request that fails, or that a site's robots.txt refuses, is not charged. Prepaid credits never expire: unused pages stay on your account until you use them. Every request follows the target site's robots.txt, and the [Acceptable Use Policy](https://webreaderapi.com/acceptable-use/) is part of these terms. The service is sold by SerpGoat LLC.

## 1. Who is bound by these terms?

You and SerpGoat LLC, which operates WebReaderAPI. "You" is the holder of an account, a person or an organisation. Creating an account, paying a top-up or calling the API means you accept these terms and the [Acceptable Use Policy](https://webreaderapi.com/acceptable-use/).

## 2. What does the service do?

WebReaderAPI fetches public web pages and PDF files that you name and returns their content as Markdown, plain text or cleaned HTML, through `https://webreaderapi.com/api/v1/read`, `https://webreaderapi.com/api/v1/batch` and `https://webreaderapi.com/api/v1/crawl`.

Websites decide what their pages contain and whether robots may read them. We do not control, correct or guarantee the content we return. The same URL can give a different result from one request to the next.

## 3. How do accounts and API keys work?

Account-number login; email is optional. You sign in with your account number, so keep it in a safe place. An optional email gives you a way to get it back; with no email on file, a lost number cannot be restored.

You can make several keys and revoke any of them from the dashboard. Every request sent with one of your keys uses your credits, whoever sends it, so keep keys private and revoke any key that leaks. One account per person or organisation.

## 4. How are credits counted and when do they expire?

1 credit = 1 page read without a browser; 2 credits when the page needs a browser to render JavaScript. A request that fails, or that a site's robots.txt refuses, is not charged. Choosing the country a page is read from adds 10 credits, because the page is then read through a residential connection in that country. PDF files up to 20 MB and 100 pages are converted to Markdown, at 1 credit per started block of 10 pages.

Prepaid credits never expire: unused pages stay on your account until you use them. Credits are lost only if you delete your account or if we close it for a breach of these terms. If we stop selling the service, we give at least 30 days' notice so you can use your remaining credits or move their value to another product.

## 5. How do payments work?

Prices are in US dollars on the [pricing page](https://webreaderapi.com/pricing/). You top up a balance in BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC, with a minimum of $25, and buy credit packs from that balance. Send the exact amount shown on the network shown, then click "I've sent the payment"; the payment is matched by its exact amount and credited once it is confirmed on the blockchain.

Your balance keeps its value with no end date. When a pack costs less than the minimum top-up, the extra part can be asked back within 30 days, in USDT or USDC, as long as it is unspent; other top-ups are not paid back unless the law requires it. Network fees are paid by the sender.

## 6. Can I get a refund?

Yes, to your balance, in two cases: a pack used at less than 20% within 72 hours of purchase, and a pack that does not work and that support cannot repair within a day. The [refund policy](https://webreaderapi.com/refunds/) states the full rule, with worked examples.

## 7. What rules apply to the pages I read?

Our crawler applies three rules to every request, and they cannot be turned off. We respect robots.txt: our crawler identifies itself as WebReaderAPI, follows the rules written for it or for all robots, and does not read a page that a site disallows. Refused pages are not charged. If a site declares Content-Signal: ai-input=no in its robots.txt, we do not read its pages for you. If a site refuses our request, we return its answer: we never solve CAPTCHAs, log in to accounts, or try to get around a block or a paywall.

You are responsible for how you use the content you receive, including the rights of its owners. The [Acceptable Use Policy](https://webreaderapi.com/acceptable-use/) lists forbidden uses.

## 8. Are there limits on volume or speed?

Every account has a limit on how many pages it reads at once; your dashboard shows it, and support can raise it. Crawl one website per job, up to 10,000 pages, following its sitemap, its robots.txt and its Crawl-delay. Up to 100 URLs per batch job. We may slow or pause requests to a single website to protect it, for example by honouring its `Crawl-delay`.

## 9. When can you suspend my account?

When we find a breach of these terms or of the acceptable use policy, when a payment is reversed or fraudulent, or when the law requires it. We tell you the reason when the law allows, and a person reviews the facts before any suspension.

## 10. What do you guarantee?

We provide the service as it is. We do not guarantee that a given page can be read, that a site will accept our requests, or that the service will run without interruption. Failed requests and pages refused by a site are not charged, which limits your cost when a page cannot be read.

## 11. What is your liability?

Where the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the event that caused it. We are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

## 12. How do these terms change?

We date every version and record changes in the [changelog](https://webreaderapi.com/changelog/). A change that reduces your rights applies to credits bought after the change is published. Questions go to support@webreaderapi.com.
